Description

This stained glass monarch butterfly is 30 inches wide and 33 inches tall. It is framed in a maple wood and has hooks for hanging screwed in the top of the wood.

The butterfly is symbolic and is not caught in the web but flying through it. The web in this case is the internet and the butterfly is Visions Stained Glass.

Carolyn used dark grey and black glass surrounding the light amber sections which makes the lead lines less obvious in order to recreate an accurate depiction of a life like monarch butterfly. The antennas are made of attached copper wire that is tinned and darkened with a patina.

The background glass is a clear textured seedy that resembles a milky spider web.

This piece is signed and dated with an engraving too as are all of Carolyn’s creations.
